EZI UP & Go Victorian Hill Climb Championship
Round 6
Date: 10 and 11 June 2023
Hosted by the Ararat Car Club
Competitors faced a heavy fog early Saturday morning which delayed the start
The first run up the 1240m course was slippery and damp and times reflected this. By the end of Saturday Glenn Latter had the fastest time with Brenton Byfield second and Mark Dixon third
Sunday was a cold start but no fog so competition was underway by 10am
Glenn Latter kept getting faster but Mirko Grbic, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo, would take the fastest time of the weekend with a 40.87. Glenn Latter, Mazda RX7, second with 43.47 closely followed by David Harris, Subaru Impreza, with 43.83
Competitors had 11 runs to conquer the hill. A non-championship top 13 shootout finished off the weekend prior to the presentation of trophies.
The next round of the championship will be held by the MG Car Club at the refurbished Roy Roy track, Clintons Road, Christmas Hills on Sunday 9 July.
