VHCC Round 6 – One Tree Hill, Ararat
The final round of the EZIUP AND GO Victorian Hill Climb Championship was held last weekend in ideal conditions. 18C both days and dry weather. The track surface was cool in the mornings but warmed during the day ending with very good grip.
88 entries lined up for 8 runs over the weekend.
Mirko Grbic came out on Sunday with a series of blistering runs of just over 40 seconds with a FTD of 40.20.
David Harris set some very good times over the weekend, finishing with two runs of 41.75 and 41.76 that could hardly be separated.
Damien Brand kept Mirko and David honest with his final two runs at 42.07 42.04.
The provisional outright and class results are attached.
We are still working on the final championship points scores so it will be a week or two before these numbers are finalised.
Our thanks to everyone who competed in the championship this year. Participation in this year championship was well up on the post COVID years with an average of 92 competitors at each round. A wonderful result.
We are currently planning the schedule for next year and will announce that soon.

Panel Elections
Each year a few positions on the panel come up for election. This is a great way to give something back to the management and organisation of the annual championship. We were fortunate to attract new members to the panel at the 2023 elections and we would like to see that trend continue this year.
The elections will be held at the panel meeting on Thursday 10 October.
Vacancies are for the following positions:

· Treasurer
· Competitor’s Representative
· Scrutineer’s Representative
· Eligibility Officer
We seek nominations from our hill climbing family and competitors who want to make a contribution to our sport.
